Common questions

What counts as a spatial query?

Any call to a spatial endpoint — point-in-polygon, radius search, geofence check, spatial join, feature insert — counts as one query. NL (AI) queries are counted separately.

What happens when I exceed my limit?

On Free and Local plans, requests are blocked with a 429 response. On Regional, you can enable pay-as-you-go overage at $10 per 1M extra queries.

Can I self-host Piri for free?

Yes. Piri is open source (Apache 2.0). You can self-host unlimited queries at no cost. Piri Cloud gives you managed infrastructure, backups, and enterprise features on top.

How does billing work?

Plans are billed monthly. Usage counters reset on your billing cycle start date. Annual plans with a 20% discount are available — contact us.
